Artist's Comments

I actually think this turned out reasonably well.

Another archaeopteryx with its prey, a freshly killed young sinoconodont. This is another piece for my AP portfolio. Done with prismacolors and a chalk pastel background.

You know, I never really thought that Archaeopteryces resembled birds that closely, but rather were very lizardlike.

I've always invisioned them as very birdlike.

Looks nice, love the detail and shading, and great anatomy as always. Should serve your AP portfolio well.

"Did you read the label?"
"Yes. It was a skull and crossbones."
"And you drank it anyway?"
"I just thought Gatorade had got a new logo..."

What a ferocious little bird. Er, quasi-bird. I like the background.

There's not enough blood on the little mouse thingy! :o
...Just kidding.

It's great. The feathers do look a little fur-like, and the position of the wing on the right looks a little weird, but those are just tiny quibbles.
I love the contrast of the textures in the foreground and background - it seems soft with the beams of light and tree, where as the dinosaur is very crisp and stands out wonderfully. Oh, and did I meantion those talons are amazing?
:D
