Two recent things I've noticed about this illustrious site:

Firstly, from the DeviantArt Terms of Service page:

13. Registration

To register as a member of the Service or purchase products, you must be 18 years or lawfully permitted to enter into and form contracts under applicable law. In no event may minors submit Content to the Service. You agree that the information that you provide to us upon registration, at the time of purchase, and at all other times will be true, accurate, current and complete. You also agree that you will ensure that this information is kept accurate and up to date at all times. This is especially important with respect to your email address, since that is the primary way in which we will communicate with you about your account and your orders.

Am I completely missing something here, or is DA essentially claiming that you have to be 18 or older in order to register at DA and upload artwork? Is it because they allow nude photos (as one of my friends suggested on LJ) or something... more sinister?

Secondly, they've recently removed the ability for owners of Basic Prints Accounts to buy their own prints without shelling out more dough. From their email: "Please be aware that as of June 16th, 2008 Basic Prints Subscribers will no longer be able to order their own prints at base price."

Awesome. That means that if I want my own prints, I either have to give them more money or register a Premium Account (giving them more money). DA, you confuse me lately. Why is the money you get from poor suckers like me who have paid accounts not enough?

Sigh.
